10 Movies It's OK For Men To Cry At

6. Old Yeller

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6hB9NTYD0E 1957's Old Yeller is one of the all-time great sob stories whether you're a man or a woman, telling the tragic tale of man's best friend that ends with the man having to do his friend the ultimate mercy, and blast his brains out. The beloved family dog, Yeller, defends his owners from a rabid wolf but is bitten in the process, causing him to unfortunately contract rabies. In the end, Travis, heartbroken by his dog becoming ill, is forced to shoot Yeller when he lashes out, helping the young man to transition into adulthood. It makes men the world over weep because, again, it cuts deep to anyone who has ever had a pet and has either had to put them out of their misery themselves or take them to the vet to have them put down. Furthermore, older men who might have seen the pain an animal death causes one of their children might be particularly affected by the film. Simply, it's a film that despite being over 50 years old, continues to reduce men to tearful wrecks.
