10 Movies That Were Pretty Much Just Video Games

7. 300

I think this film had a plot, but I can't remember it for the life of me. What I do remember is battle scenes that were paced pretty much just like a video game. In fact, after playing the video game tie-in, I didn't even need to watch the film, as it proves that a seasoned gamer can predict everything that will happen. There are boss battles, there's cartoony violence... how about one-dimensional characters? You bet. Part of me thinks that this is actually the most expensive Machinima film ever made, as Gerard Butler's air-brushed abs look more like a PC texture than actual defined muscle. There are even mythical beasts (in a story based on truth)... perhaps this was actually Zack Snyder's pitch to video game developers, but it just accidently wound up getting a theatrical release instead?
