Don't get me wrong: Iron Man was awesome and is probably one of the best superhero films ever made, but it was still essentially a video game. I was torn between this and The Avengers, but one sequence granted Iron Man the win and that was the one in which Tony Stark finds himself being chased down by two fighter jets. The way the camera tracked Tony - complete with some nice cockpit shots from the jets - meant the movie momentarily turned into a Star Fox game. The majority of Tony's first suit was an actual costume, but everything after that was just CGI paint. As much as I love the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I still feel like I'm watching Robert Downey, Jr. get slowly absorbed by a product of computers rather than actually wearing a suit. I appreciate that there is an actual Iron Man suit, but it ends up being defiled so heavily by CGI that we barely ever saw it.
