8. Cop and a Half (3 stars)
Ebert Quote: "There isn't much that's original in Cop and a Half, but there's a lot that's entertaining, and there's a winning performance by a young man with a big name, Norman D. Golden II, who plays little Devon Butler, a kid who dreams of someday wearing the shield."
Critical Consensus: 17% Ebert at least concedes, again, that the chips are against him, but he can't help but be enraptured by what he sees as a promising turn from a child actor, and if there's anything we're prepare to go easy on, it's cute kids playing it silly in daft films. If young Golden had gone on to have a healthy career, then perhaps we'd let Roger get away with this one...
