10 Movies Ruined By Studio Interference

1. Blade Runner

The younger ones among us will take for granted the fact that they've been reared on the more recent cuts of Ridley Scott's masterful sci-fi opus Blade Runner, specifically the impeccable Final Cut which remedied just about every problem the film was saddled with by Warner Bros. The original cut of Blade Runner featured a bleak ending in which Deckard (Harrison Ford) and replicant Rachel (Sean Young) head off into an uncertain future, with the hint being that Deckard might be a replicant himself, but this irked the studio, who instead forced Harrison Ford to dub some voiceover narration to clarify the plot. Ford reportedly recorded the dialogue so badly in the hope that Warner wouldn't dare use it, but they did anyway. Warner also ensured that the ending was altered to be more upbeat, revealing that contrary to what came before, Rachel is not programmed to self-destruct. The pair ride off into the sunset, and that's all she wrote. Thankfully nobody ever has to watch the horrific theatrical cut ever again; long love The Final Cut. Which idiotic studio decision angers you most? Let us know in the comments below.
