10 Movies Saved By Their Final Shot
1. Final Destination 5
It quickly became a tired cliche that everybody dies at the end of a Final Destination movie, but at least the fifth film found a creative way to do it which circled back to the very first one.
The big climactic twist, of course, is that Final Destination 5 is a secret prequel, with the audience realising that protagonists Sam (Nicholas D'Agosto) and Molly (Emma Bell) are onboard Volée Airlines Flight 180 - the very same doomed airplane from the original movie, ensuring their deaths.
But that's not all - the very final scene shifts to Nathan (Arlen Escarpeta), who seemingly managed to cheat death earlier in the film by accidentally killing a co-worker and taking his lifespan.
However, during said co-worker's memorial, Nathan learns that the man had an undiagnosed brain aneurysm and would've died days later anyway, ensuring that Nathan only "inherited" a short span of time from him.
And at that moment, Volée Airlines Flight 180 crashes through the bar, crushing him to death, with his severed arm flying towards the screen in the hilariously daft final shot.
Final Destination 5 was a pretty mixed bag of a movie overall, but that departing shot tipped the balance, giving fans both a darkly hilarious final chuckle and tying off basically every last loose end.
