10 Movies Set To Release In 2021 That We're Worried About
8. Tom and Jerry
Who doesn't love Tom and Jerry? They are lovable and their antics never cease to entertain their ageless audience, but there's something about a feature length film about their motivations that just doesn't seem right.
The upcoming film hopes to shed more light on their history and why they have such a deep-rooted rivalry, but do we really need that? Part of the pair's charm is that they are caught in an eternal battle for seemingly no other reason than the joy of outdoing one another, so why must that be thrown away and a reasonable origin be introduced?
It could ruin the hilarious and playful dynamic of the duo. They are cartoon characters after all, and fans really don't want that to be tainted by adult minds who think something deeper is needed.
What if the reason for their rivalry doesn't make sense? What if it falls flat and can't hold the weight of decades of back and forth schemes?
At the end of the day, they are a cat and mouse. Is that not an obvious enough reason for there to be strain on their relationship?
