10 Movies Set To Release In 2021 That We're Worried About
9. Space Jam 2
Basketball. Cartoons. Lebron James. A match made in heaven, right?
While it will be great to see Lebron James making the world of Space Jam his own, following on from the stellar example set by Michael Jordan in the original (1996), we have doubts about whether the concept of the film is still enough to woo audiences in 2021.
Not to be critical, but are the Looney Tunes as relevant as they were back in 1996? Cartoons have moved on a lot since those days, and it is not unfair to say that the Looney Tunes have seen their peak of fame and have now been replaced as the world's most watched cartoons.
Don't get us wrong, Space Jam 2 will be a great movie for the now-adults who loved the original, but will kids take to it when they haven't got the same rooted connection with Bugs Bunny and the gang?
There's a lot of pressure for the writers and Lebron to bring new life to the Space Jam series, and it's hard to see if it can really be done.
