10 Movies That Accidentally Made You Love The Villains

5. Thor: The Dark World - Loki

Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios have always been spot on with their casting choices, even in the early days. One of the greatest picks has to be Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The dry wit of Hiddleston is perfect for the God of Mischief and thanks to his theatre background, the actor steals every scene he is in.

Introduced in 2011’s Thor, Loki was a one dimensional character with a grudge against his brother. He then appeared in Avengers Assemble with the usual world domination plans and an alien army. It wasn’t till his return after The Battle Of New York that we would see the Loki we know and love.

Thor: The Dark World may not be anyone's favourite MCU film, but it did manage to give us a new Loki, adding more depth to the character and exploring the relationship between the two princes of Asgard.

Having spent a good amount of time in an Asgardian prison, Thor called upon his troubled brother for aid in fighting Malekith and his army of Dark Elves. This is when Hiddleston truly came into his own, playing off the sibling rivalry with no shortage of quips. As the two journey together, the character growth by Loki turned him into a much more lovable character, more of a rascal than a villain.
