10 Movies That Are Just Giant Adverts

6. Mac & Me (McDonalds)

Mac and Me Mac & Me is notorious for the ludicrous amount of product placement shoved into it, ranging from Coca-Cola, to Skittles and Sears. However, there's one bout of product placement so strong that it has even invaded the movie's damn title, and that's its partnership with McDonalds. The titular character's name, Mac, is apparently an acronym for "Mysterious Alien Creature", and the sheer lack of effort the writers put into that acronym makes it clear that it's really supposed to make you think of the fast food company. The most infamous scene in the movie occurs when a 5-minute impromptu dance scene takes place...inside a McDonald's restaurant...featuring Ronald McDonald. Though no money apparently changed hands between the producers and McDonalds, it's difficult to believe what other incentive there could have been for the writers to name their protagonist after the company, and have their logo subsequently flash up in our minds every time we think of the title. Maybe Maccy D's provided catering?
