10 Movies That Bombed So Hard They Killed The Sequel

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was one of those box office bombs that you could spot a mile away, and the only people that must have been surprised when it landed in theaters with a thud would have been the studio executives that were planning to build an entire cinematic universe around it.

At no point did anyone show much interest in seeing Arthur Pendragon's origin story play out in the big screen, yet somehow Warner Bros. were convinced that audiences would turn up in their droves for the first installment of a Knights of the Round Table franchise that was set to span six movies.

Guy Ritchie's truly bizarre combination of historical epic with randomly-inserted fantasy elements couldn't even crack the $150m mark, resulting in a huge financial write-down for the $175m blockbuster.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
