10 Movies That Bombed So Hard They Killed The Sequel

8. Fantastic Four

The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Josh Trank's Fantastic Four reboot only lives on in infamy as one of the worst comic book blockbusters ever made, but Fox were initially so confident about the movie's chances of success that they'd already claimed a release date for the sequel long before the the first movie had hit theaters.

The tales of woe emanating from the set have since become the stuff of legend, with Trank only just beginning to put the broken pieces of his career back together after hitting the self-destruct button during a production that was plagued by tales of disagreements between the cast and crew, overbearing studio interference and erratic behavior on the director's part.

Extensive reshoots failed to fix any of the problems, and if anything only made it more obvious that the story underwent a major overhaul given some less-than-convincing wigs. To the surprise of absolutely nobody, the sequel was pulled from the schedule just three months after Fantastic Four was dumped on an unsuspecting world.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
