8. Song Of The South

Though it won the academy award in 1947 for best song for "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah", Disney has never released Song of The South in the US because of the controversy surrounding the character of Uncle Remus. At the time many African Americas found the character racist and patronizing claiming the film presented a grossly inaccurate depiction of the relationship between slaves and slaveholders in the Antebellum South (Django unchained this ain't). Disney executives agree and have only saw fit to release clips of the film in anthology collections while keeping the original locked safely away in the Disney vault.
