10 Movies That Changed Hugely From The Trailers

It's fair to say that the trailers for Shane Black's The Predator were, uh, all over the place. But what's especially baffling about the trailers is that they featured footage from the movie's third act which was already due to be replaced by re-shoots.

The Predator's first trailer didn't drop until last May, over a month after the re-shoots had been completed, where Black had reportedly re-shot the overwhelming majority of the film's finale in order to switch it from day to night (among other things).

Extensive clips from that original third reel were nevertheless featured in the earlier trailers, showing Nebraska (Trevante Rhodes) firing a machine gun from atop a tank. This was said to be part of an entirely cut sequence where The Loonies rescue two defector Predators from Area 51 to fight the Ultimate Predator.

The trailers also briefly showed an explosive day-set action scene as the Ultimate Predator attacked a human army, which didn't make it into the final movie.

Originally, this sequence involved Ultimate Predator massacring Traeger's (Sterling K. Brown) men in Area 52 in order to re-acquire the trinket housed within the crashed Predator ship.

Also, the trailers showed Quinn (Boyd Holbrook) looking up at the sky and quipping, "so come and get us motherf***er", which was intended to be the final shot of the movie before the infamous "Predator Killer" sequence was conceived in re-shoots.

Even in the weeks leading up to the movie's release, trailers and TV spots still featured clips from the aborted finale, confirming a production that clearly ran fully off the rails. Unsurprisingly, critics and fans both reviled it.
