10 Movies That Changed Other Movies

5. Red Notice Made SAS: Red Notice Change Its Title On Netflix

Here's an especially weird example of the influence a film can have over another, given that the film calling the shots was released afterwards.

British action thriller SAS: Red Notice - starring Ruby Rose and Sam Heughan - was initially released in March 2021, but when it went to Netflix a few months later, it was renamed to "SAS: Rise of the Black Swan."

The reason for this? Netflix had their own film called Red Notice - the mega-budget blockbuster starring Dwayne Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot - mere months away from release, and didn't want audiences to confuse the two.

And so, they flexed their industry muscles to get the original Red Notice retitled for its release on the streaming platform. After all, we wouldn't want audiences mistaking one aggressively forgettable action thriller for another now, would we?

Hilariously, the Rotten Tomatoes consensus makes light of the film's dual title amid mediocre reviews, saying:

"Whether it's called SAS: Red Notice or SAS: Rise of the Black Swan, this is a thoroughly mediocre action thriller."

The lesson here? Never underestimate the sway that Dwayne Johnson has - the man apparently possesses the power to get movie titles changed at will.
