10 Movies That Changed Your Mind About Actors You Hated
4. Rachel Getting Married - Anne Hathaway
Everybody hates Anne Hathaway. Seriously: Look. We're not making this up. Nobody likes the poor girl. And to be fair - though she hasn't really done anything to deserve such levels of bizarre dislike - there is something unexplainably irritating about her as both a person and as an actress. Watching her in anything - The Devil Wears Prada, The Princess Diaries, Les Miserables, even - just brings out feelings of "ugh." Nobody knows why, really. That's the problem with not liking Anne Hathaway. It seems a lot like one of those jumping on the bandwagon things. Maybe it is. Still, for anybody who feels like not feeling horribly towards the nice actress for a while, Rachel Getting Married is the movie for you. Hathaway is so good in this particular flick, in fact (it was directed by Silence of the Lamb's Jonathan Demme), that she almost feels like she's being played by a different actress entirely (you know that's a good thing). If you ask us, her turn here - in which she plays the depressed sister of the titular Rachel - far outshines her brief role in Les Miserables. Trust us: a single viewing of Rachel Getting Married will help you to alleviate all that trapped hatred. For a brief period.
