10 Movies That Could Be The Mysterious Third Star Wars Spin-Off
5. Obi Wan: The Lost Years
So what did Obi-Wan Kenobi get up to on Tatooine while he watched over Luke and mended his broken heart? Remember, at the end of Revenge Of The Sith he was under the impression that Anakin was dead - how does he find out about the rebirth of Darth Vader?
There’s enough curiosity in those nineteen years between films to tell at least one compelling tale: and it would bring back Ewan McGregor to round off his Star Wars experience in a more positive manner. He's already indicated that he'd like to return to the role.
Noted Star Wars author John Jackson Miller spent seven years of his life on the Kenobi novel, which saw a traumatised Kenobi arriving on Tatooine like a retired gunfighter and being caught up in Western style shenanigans while determined to hide his true Jedi nature.
Although Kenobi was a pre-nu-school Star Wars novel, and therefore isn’t officially canon any longer, it covers the same time period we’re looking at. Given that this was only published in 2013, it would be nice to at least use this as a basis for a cinematic treatment of the story.
