10 Movies That Could Still Save The Box Office In 2020

7. Free Guy

Free Guy boasts the kind of brilliantly simple high-concept pitch that you don't really see in Hollywood's big-budget blockbusters anymore, and while director Shawn Levy isn't exactly known for the high quality of his movies, he certainly knows his way around an effects-heavy studio flick.

The story seems tailor-made for Ryan Reynolds' effortless charisma and razor-sharp comic timing, as his titular Guy discovers his role as an NPC in an open-world video game, before deciding to break from his established routine and try to become the hero for a change.

Having been moved from an initial July release, December seems like a much better fit for Free Guy anyway, because the holiday season is always one of the most lucrative times of year at the box office, and the hybrid of action comedy, sci-fi and video game movie will appeal to people in every demographic.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
