Bradley Cooper's Oscar-winning directorial debut concludes with the tragic death of his troubled singer Jackson Maine, who hangs himself in his garage over the belief that he's holding back his wife Ally's (Lady Gaga) career.

While it's fair to say that A Star Is Born's story is well-known to older viewers - this being the third remake of the 1937 original - the film certainly skews to a younger demographic as evidenced by Lady Gaga's starring role.

It was pretty bizarre, then, that the music video for "I'll Never Love Again" heavily implies Jackson's death, editing a heartfelt montage of his and Ally's greatest moments together, while focusing on Ally's tearful isolation.

Between that and the song's title, it doesn't take much intuition to figure out how things turn out for Jackson, and though the film is so much more than merely this shocking final event, it's still pretty cheeky to spoil it so brazenly.
