10 Movies That Couldn't Wait To Spoil The Ending
2. Toy Story 4's Posters Tipped The Hat (Literally) To Woody's Emotional Farewell
The Ending
After wrestling with his "duty" to care for Bonnie over the course of the film, Woody (Tom Hanks) finally decides to depart from her and his long-time toy friends, setting off on an adventure as a "lost toy" with Bo Peep (Annie Potts).
How It Was Spoiled
The very first teaser poster doesn't feature much more than a release date and an image of Woody stood alone while tipping his hat to an unseen party, in a fashion that immediately brings Toy Story 3's "So long, partner" ending to mind.
Between the hat-tipping - a traditional sign of bidding someone farewell - and the fact that Woody isn't surrounded by his toy friends as in all of the series' other posters, the implication seems pretty clear, that he'd be leaving his old pals behind.
This was crystallised by other teaser posters in the lead up to the film's release, some of which focused on Woody stood apart from the other toys in the fairground, again tipping his hat.
