10 Movies That Just Got Cancelled

3. The Shrinking of Treehorn

The Shrinking of Treehorn is a beloved 1971 children's book from Florence Parry Heide, revolving around a young boy who begins shrinking one day all while his parents barely notice.

In June 2019, Ron Howard was announced to be adapting the book into what would be his foray into animated filmmaking.

Though initially set to release theatrically on November 10, 2023, by 2022 the film had moved to Netflix, with Howard still set to produce and direct.

However, last summer What's On Netflix reported from their own sources that the project had been quietly canned by Netflix for unspecified reasons, and given that we haven't heard a single thing about the movie in the three years since it was announced, the report certainly tracks.

Howard has always been kept very busy as a filmmaker, though, so it's likely just a matter of time before he announces the next movie he's working on.
