10 Movies That Made You Cheer Brutal Moments

1. Inglourious Basterds - Hitler's Death

final destination 5 death scene
Universal

This 2008 Tarantino flick tops the list, because honestly, how can you not cheer the brutal slaughter of Hitler and a bunch of Nazis? The greatest director of the 21st century somehow manages to up the violence while making it an easier film to watch. How? By giving the audience what they want!

The scene almost borders on slapstick comedy, with the assassins acting like bumbling idiots for the fifteen minutes of screen time preceding the theatre massacre. Tarantino teases the audience throughout the film that he may reinterpret historical events, but places enough obstacles in the way to make us believe it's all a ruse.

Right until the moment before the theatre is set alight, we expect Hitler and his cronies to make an escape, but as soon as the cinema catches fire and those machine guns are unleashed we are left aghast but extremely satisfied.

Tarantino even cuts back to concentrate on Hitler's demise, the over-the-top brutality making the scene as funny as it is a cheerful moment.
