10 Movies That Made You Love Unbearable Actors

3. Andie MacDowell - Sex, Lies And Videotape

A testament to the director for his uncanny ability to pull great performances out of otherwise unbearable actors, this happens to be the third Steven Soderbergh film to make this list, alongside Out of Sight and Magic Mike. How do you do it, Steven? Next up, then: Andie MacDowell, who - for the sum of her career - has been the worst part of any movie she happened to appear in. Groundhog Day, Four Weddings and a Funeral... great movies, but they could have used literally anyone else in the female lead roles. For some unexplainable reason, though, Sex, Lies and Videotape positions Andie MacDowell has something akin to a tour-de-force; based on this performance, it makes complete sense as to why the model turned actress was able to embark on a career in Hollywood. As a repressed housewife of the Louisiana variety, you totally buy into the character that she conjures up - not only is she bearable here, she's mesmerising.
