10 Movies That Made You Say 'WTF Were They Thinking'

1. Posthumous Cameos - The Flash

The multiverse has taken over the comic-book movie industry in recent years, with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Into and Across the Spider-Verse, No Way Home, and The Flash all releasing since 2018. The audience response to each of these movies has been vastly different.

The Spider-Verse movies have become two of the most popular comic-book movies ever, and while unrealistic expectations of ridiculous cameos ruined the Doctor Strange sequel, the ridiculous cameos that were actually included in The Flash were arguably the worst part of a disappointing movie.

Towards the end of the film was a scene that essentially brought multiple universes together. There was no real reason for this in terms of narrative; it was purely for fan service, and oh boy, did it miss the mark. Bringing the likes of George Clooney and Michael Keaton back is one thing, but using CGI to animate actors that are no longer with us was a step too far.

The likes of George Reeve, Christopher Reeves, and Adam West were portrayed in the movie, a decision that was heavily criticised in the aftermath. These were clearly supposed to be game-changing moments for the movie and potentially the wider DCU, but they ultimately couldn't have missed the mark much more than they did.
