Warner Brothers having both Batman and Superman to play with in a shared cinematic universe should have automatically been a home run. Even though Man of Steel wasn't for everyone, introducing the Dark Knight onto the same screen had Avengers-level potential, if not bigger.

There were too many problems to list with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but suffice to say that the first big-screen coming-together of the two most popular superheroes of all time underwhelmed massively, and there was one scene in particular that became something of a poster child for the hate.

Bruce Wayne was hellbent on killing Superman. In his own words to Alfred, if there was even a 1% chance that the Last Son of Krypton posed a threat to Earth, they had to take it as an absolute certainty. He was obsessively driven, and would stop at nothing to kill his opponent.

Unless of course, Superman's mom had the same name as his own mom.

There had to have been a better way to bring Bruce Wayne around to Clark Kent's side that wasn't as moronic as this one, right? Still, at least we got a pretty funny joke out of it in Deadpool 2.
