10 Movies That Prove Action Stars Shouldn't Do Comedy

7. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson - Tooth Fairy (2010)

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson made a very successful transition to action star after a run as a WWE wrestler. With films like The Rundown, The Scorpion King and Gridiron Gang under his belt, Johnson seemed to be on the way to becoming the next generation of Schwarzenegger. Then his career took a handful of poorly misguided turns, and none so much than the 2010 stinker Tooth Fairy. Johnson plays a no-good hockey player sent into the land of Tooth Fairies for his bad deeds, and of course seeing the 275 pound Johnson in a pink tutu with wings is automatically hilarious, right? The film misses on all angles, especially in generating any laughs from the bulky lead or supporting roles from the likes of Julie Andrews, Billy Crystal and Seth McFarlane. Tooth Fairy was a misfire, and poor Johnson, a charismatic lead when he wants to be took the brunt of the abuse for the film. Since then he has steered away from fluffy comedy, going back to starring in more action franchises than one person should be allowed to be in (Fast Five, GI Joe, Journey 2).
