10 Movies That Prove The 90's Were The Golden Age Of Action

7. The Fugitive

Action movies used to get nominated for Academy Awards in more than just the technical categories, you know. A critical and commercial smash hit, Andrew Davis' propulsive flick landed seven nods in total including Best Picture, with Tommy Lee Jones winning Best Supporting Actor for his memorable turn as Deputy U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard.

Managing to maintain a frantic pace almost from the get-go, The Fugitive is a masterclass in how to craft a suspenseful action thriller that juggles mystery and suspense with the set-pieces and tropes that are part-and-parcel of the genre.

Harrison Ford manages to put a fresh spin on his tried-and-trusted 'where's my family?' screen persona as he desperately evades the authorities while hunting for his wife's one-armed killer, while Jones steals the show as the Marshal who doesn't give a sh*t what Richard Kimble says, he's just here to do his job.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
