10 Movies That Ruin The Credibility Of The IMDb Top 250

8. Gone Girl (2014)

Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 Voldemort
20th Century Fox

Here are the names of some David Fincher movies not on the IMDb Top 250: Zodiac, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and The Social Network.

That Gone Girl - a good but flawed Fincher film - made the cut and these three films did not (especially The Social Network) calls the integrity of the list into question, because how has this happened, IMDb? Don't get me wrong: Gone Girl is an entertaining film, but does it have the rewatchability of those missing Fincher flicks?

Now, we can probably just put this down to Gone Girl's relative newness; it's Fincher's latest movie, based on an immensely popular book. Still, it sheds an interesting light on the Fincher classics that have been underrated on the site at large: with its beautiful direction, topical themes, flawless performances, memorable soundtrack, and - of course - Aaron Sorkin's Oscar-winning script, it's a real shock not to find The Social Network here in place of Gone Girl.
