10 Movies That Should Be Remade Next
1. The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen
'Steampunk Avengers'. If those two words don't have you sold on the potential of how incredible a proper adaptation of Alan Moore and Kevin O'Neill's comic book series could be, then it isn't for you. On the flip-side, it also makes you think about just how badly they f**ked it up the first time round.
A production so troubled that Alan Moore has publicly disowned every adaptation of his work ever since, it sent Sean Connery into retirement and Stephen Norrington still hasn't made another movie, the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is an all-round cautionary tale of how not to make a big-budget blockbuster.
Which is a real shame, because fans of the graphic novel will tell you just how badly Hollywood bastardized the concept into an incoherent mess. Complex, character-driven, humorous and action-packed, a remake of the League done right could be spectacular if a creative team and cast that actually gave a sh*t about the source material signed on to bring the Victorian-era crimefighters to life.
