10 Movies That Should Be Remade Next

2. Timecop

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Universal Pictures

Jean-Claude Van Damme's highest-grossing star vehicle ever, Timecop was derided by many critics when it was first released in 1994 for being little more than a low-rent Terminator ripoff but found a new lease of life as a cult favorite for many fans of the action genre. One thing that we can all be in agreement on is that no matter how well you think Peter Hyams pulled it off, the premise is still a brilliant one.

As if the title didn't give it away, the plot follows a cop that can travel through time. Quite how the movie manages to make the narrative so convoluted with a hook that simple is anyone's guess but long story short; they didn't make the best use of the concept.

If the story was tightened up to avoid the plot holes that JCVD could roundhouse kick his way through, a star was found that could actually carry the movie with some acting ability and it made the most of the undoubted potential for jaw-dropping action scenes set across an infinite number of possible timelines then a remake wouldn't have too much difficulty in delivering a spectacular sci-fi actioner.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
