10 Movies That Should Be Remade Next

5. Logan's Run

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Warner Bros.

Well, its not like they haven't tried.

For over a decade names including Joel Silver, Bryan Singer, Christopher McQuarrie, Joseph Kosinski, Alex Garland and Nicolas Winding Refn have attempted to remake the sci-fi classic, yet it remains stuck in development hell. While the original is clearly a product of its time and hasn't aged all that well, the central themes are still relevant enough to warrant a remake.

Set in a futuristic sealed civilization where the inhabitants are essentially euthanized when they hit 30 unless they attempt to make a run for it to find the mythical 'Sanctuary', any remake has a wealth of thematic undertones to play with. Ageism, decadence, science and technology becoming so powerful as to dictate our lifespans and the prioritization of social conformity of individualism could result in an incredibly smart and thoughtful sci-fi epic.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
