10 Movies That Should Have Been Included in the National Film Registry By Now

2. A Clockwork Orange

Kubrick again. I feel he€™s underrepresented in the registry and A Clockwork Orange is arguably his most provocative film. It€™s a biting social satire that refuses to pull any punches. The far right and the far left are skewered with equal vigor as Malcolm McDowell€™s Alex is caught in the middle. Images of sex and violence pervade the film but they merely serve to underline Kubrick€™s contention that Alex€™s world is responsible for his crimes. If someone is brought up surrounded by violence, chances are fairly good that their lifestyle will be steeped in it. Few films have ever made that point so powerfully as this one does.

I am a fan of film, Doctor Who (and sci-fi in general), fantasy, the adventure genre of gaming (the Myst series in particular), making lists and caesar salad.
