10 Movies That Should Have Started 5 Minutes Later
4. Justice League
What really needs to be said about Joss Whedon's version of Justice League that hasn't already?
Lopping off its opening five minutes would in no way save the film - though hopefully Zack Snyder will take that onboard with his upcoming four-hour cut - but it sure would make it less objectionable right out of the gate.
Those establishing scenes really get the movie off on the wrong foot, beginning with horrifyingly not-cinematic phone footage of Superman (Henry Cavill) talking to a child, followed by an offputtingly CGI-heavy scene in which Batman (Ben Affleck) captures a crook (Holt McCallany) and fights a Parademon.
By skipping all this perfunctory nonsense and starting the film with the credits montage depicting Superman's absence on Earth, we get into it right away.
And because Warner Bros. literally forced Whedon to bring the film in under two hours, this would've freed up another five minutes which could've perhaps been filled with one of Snyder's original cut scenes.
