10 Movies That Should’ve Ended 5 Minutes Earlier

6. The Dark Knight Rises

Matchstick Men
Warner Bros

Whilst some people liked the ending of The Dark Knight Rises, it definitely also raised a few eyebrows.

It is a pretty impressive feat that Bruce Wayne survived a nuclear explosion via the twin miracles of auto-pilot and swimming. Nevermind that after all that he was able to go back to just living a normal person’s life, sitting in the sunshine at a European cafe. What happened with all his cash? What is he gonna do for the rest of his life? How has nobody recognised him?

Aside from this there was the whole John Blake issue. We find that his real name is Robin but that this has pretty much no significance at all, and then we find that he has been directed to the Bat Cave as if the whole trilogy hasn’t proven again and again that people taking on a vigilante role does more harm than good.

Bruce Wayne retires for the good of everyone and somehow reaches the conclusion that someone else should just go to the Bat Cave and do their best to take over? Seems like there’s potential for that to go wrong…
