10 Movies That Stunned Comic-Con (But Regular Audiences Hated)

4. X-Men Origins: Wolverine

X-Men Origins: WolverineThe Buzz: Given the (relatively) strong track record of the X-Men franchise up to this point, perhaps it was fair to give X-Men Origins: Wolverine the benefit of the doubt, even if Bryan Singer had nothing to do with it. Things got off to a bang when Hugh Jackman made a surprise appearance to introduce some footage, which received largely strong write-ups, especially regarding Liev Schreiber's grizzled Sabretooth, Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool, and Taylor Kitsch's Gambit (the latter "basically blew the roof off Hall H", apparently). Regular Audiences: Though Hugh Jackman and Schreiber gave reliably committed performances, there's no getting around the fact that this is a comic movie made by someone who has little regard for the source material, hence the transformation of Deadpool into...Baraka from Mortal Kombat. The fact that the movie was pirated a few weeks ahead of release certainly didn't help its box office haul, which was an OK but unimpressive $373 million (against $150 million). Had Con attendees been shown Deadpool's "final form", I'm sure the response would have been very different indeed...
