10 Movies That Suffered Undeserved Fan Backlash
1. Star Wars: The Last Jedi
You knew it was coming, don't act like you didn't. Star Wars Episode 8: The Last Jedi is one of the most unfairly maligned films of the 21st century. While it definitely made bank at the box office (poking more than a few holes in the conspiracy nuts' delusion that it was a failure) the fanboy backlash against this movie is more than undeserved, it is flat out childish and entitled.
Entire channels have been started up on making the exact same several hour long rant against this movie, almost every actor but Mark Hamill has been chased off of social media by threats and ravings, a petition was started with the intent of getting it removed from continuity (it has been taken down for various reasons. Tl;Dr the guy who started it was not thinking straight at the time).
But the one who got the worst of it was actress Kelly Marie Tran, who not only got by far the worst of the abuse, but even had her Wookiepedia page altered to include racist screeds against her (these alterations have since been corrected).
There are legitimate criticisms to be made against The Last Jedi, there are legitimate reasons to not like it, as is the case with all of the films on this list. But the behavior shown by the backlash against this movie is nothing short of inexcusable.
