3. Literal Script Supervisors - Star Wars: Rise Of Skywalker

Given JJ Abrams' previous entry on this list, it should come as no surprise that when he came to direct two episodes of the Star Wars main series, the security went into overdrive. Perhaps the best person to describe how it has changed over the years is Mark Hamill, who was able to recall giving out the original script for A New Hope around to a couple of people before making the one that started it all.

That couldn't be further from the current procedure regarding script access for the latest Star Wars episode, Rise of Skywalker. While Hamill was shooting another project in Prague, someone from the studio had to fly there to physically hand him the rewrites (once again in the infamous red paper). Oh, and he also had to stay put while Hamill reads the rewrites, waiting around so that he could collect and return them.

However, the production was slightly kinder to him in the making of the previous episode, Last Jedi, letting him keep the script albeit requiring him to always keep his eye on it and secure it in a safe each evening. No wonder he ended up comparing it to being in the CIA!
