10 Movies That Totally Lied To You
1. Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan
In 1989, horror viewers all around the world queued up outside cinemas (think Netflix, but sticky) in the hopes of seeing a hockey mask-wearing undead psychopath tear his way through the city of Manhattan. And, with Friday The 13th VIII's subtitle being Jason Takes Manhattan, why wouldn't they?
What viewers got would have been better named as Jason Takes A Really, Like REALLY, Long Trip On A Boat Then Hangs Around Manhattan For Ten Minutes because that's exactly what happened in the movie. Except, with only one week to film in New York, most of the actual city-based mayhem is filmed in Vancouver, but that's far too unwieldy to add to an already wordy title edit.
Oh, and Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter wasn't the final chapter. There were seven films after that, not counting the reboot. So that makes 11 movies that totally lied to you. Looks like article titles can lie too.
