10 Movies That Were A Million Times Better Than The Book

5. Jurassic Park

Surely Jurassic Park was never supposed to be a book? Think about it: how can a book about killer dinosaurs work on the measly black and white pages of a novel?

Writer Michael Crichton certainly thought it could be done, and to be fair he did a good job, but we all knew it was meant to be on the big screen. And who was the man to do it? Steven Spielberg of course!

By the early 90s, Spielberg was already known for his penchant for turning written beasts into visual monsters. He had done it already with Jaws and the world wanted another opportunity to be scared and filled with awe.

The result turned out to be one of the best movies of the decade and one of the true great blockbusters and is now regarded as a classic that spawned an entire franchise.
