10 Movies That Were A Million Times Better Than The Book
4. Fight Club
The first rule of Fight Club is to not talk about Chuck Palahniuk's novel of the same name.
Look, Palahniuk has his issues as a writer, it's come up a lot before. Sure there are worse writers, but there are also better ones and Palahniuk is no Charles Dickens. What Palahniuk did do though was create an extremely original concept from something rather simple. This is a book that basically centres on a man who is a bit of a loser, he is a bit depressed, and he then joins a fight club so he can feel something. It might sound basic but in reality, it is so much more than that.
Thankfully, David Fincher saw the potential and adapted the book into one of the coolest movies of all time. Not only was the movie the perfect way to end the 90s but it also rejuvenated the career of Brad Pitt and turned Edward Norton into a raging indie star.
