10 Movies That Were Filmed But Never Finished
4. The Man Who Killed Don Quixote
The Man Who Killed Don Quixote is Terry Gilliams follow up to 1998s Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas that is yet to come into fruition. When the movie first entered production, the project redefined the definition of rotten luck.
A freak flood that damaged the movies extravagant and costly set, health issues with the lead Jean Rochefort and the fact that Gilliam chose to shoot near a military stronghold all contributed to a shut down just weeks into the shoot. Lost In La Mancha is a documentary that uncovers Gilliams struggles whilst making Don Quixote and was initially meant for a DVD extra.
However, when Don Quixote failed, the documentary was released as a full-length feature. Throughout the last decade, Gilliam has worked tirelessly towards re-launching Don Quixote and the movie is now set for a 2016 release starring Jack OConnell and John Hurt.
