10 Movies That Were Filmed But Never Finished
3. The Other Side Of The Wind
The Other Side Of The Wind was to be Orson Welles last film and its production ran intermittently between the years of 1969 and 1976. The film (which Oliver Stone called too experimental) sees an ageing director (John Huston) involved in a heated rivalry with a younger director (Peter Bogdanovich).
Problems with production ranged from Welles tussles with the IRS to the Ayatollah Khomeinis government confiscating footage during 1979s Iranian Revolution. In memory of the prodigious Orson Welles, who was seriously devoted to this particular project, Bogdanovich and producer Frank Marshall have devoted their time to completing the film.
With fifty minutes of footage already edited, the movie is scheduled for release in 2015, nearly half a century later.
