Though Incredibles 2 was a major critical and commercial success, it was also criticised by disability advocates for the inclusion of strobe lighting during sequences where the villainous Screenslaver broadcasts a flickering image to hypnotise anyone watching.

It was reported that the strobing caused discomfort in some viewers and even risked inducing seizures in individuals with photosensitive epilepsy, prompting cinema chains to post warnings to those who might be affected.

Disney acknowledged the issue during Incredibles 2's theatrical release, and then made an alteration once it hit home video, heavily reducing the strobing effect throughout the film and even eliminating it in some shots entirely.

As a result, these sequences now passed the Harding test - a test which analyses video content for photosensitive epilepsy triggers - allowing affected individuals to enjoy the film.

While a small minority decried the lessened intensity of the Screenslaver's new hypnosis effect, this was a no-brainer decision on Disney's part.
