10 Movies That Were Saved By One Genius Tweak

7. Swapping Tig Notaro In Late On Papers Over Controversy - Army Of The Dead

Rogue Nation
Netflix

There was once a time when the sort of real-life curveball Zack Snyder was thrown in the lead-up to the release of Netflix's horror-heist flick Army of the Dead would've left the director's flick in some serious peril.

However, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, Tig Notaro saving the day and stepping in for Chris D'Elia, due to a number of sexual misconduct allegations being made against the latter, after the film had already wrapped was pulled off rather seamlessly, it must be said.

Filming her scenes over the course of just 14 days opposite an acting partner in front of a green screen, Notaro's Marianne Peters was laced into the finished article via CGI that Snyder would later admit cost "a few million".

But in Netflix putting "their money where their mouth is" in their attempts to keep the film from being weighed down by D'Elia's real-life controversy, Army of the Dead was gifted not only the chance to be disconnected from its former star's accusations, but also rewarded with arguably its most memorable character in the form of Notaro's deadpan pilot thanks to some brilliant late-in-the-day digital tinkering.
