10 Movies That Were So Bad You Couldn't Even Get Angry

5. The Last Airbender

Rise Of Skywalker
Paramount Pictures

It's M. Night Shyamalan again, and it still seems scarcely believable that he was handed After Earth's mammoth budget immediately after p*ssing away $150m of Paramount's money on The Last Airbender, that rare adaptation of a popular property that casual audiences found to be just as terrible as the fans did.

Dev Patel's cry of 'bring me your elderly!' has attained cult status in the decade since, and is probably the only memorable thing about the movie. The cast can't muster an ounce of charisma between them in performances so wooden they make David Beckham in King Arthur: Legend of the Sword look like Brando by comparison, while also proving that not only should Shyamalan be kept as far away from big-budget blockbusters as possible, but that he was even worse at adapting other people's material than he was at creating his own.

The Last Airbender runs for just 103 minutes but still feels longer than ten Return of the Kings, and the whole thing is just so laughably bad that it could easily be misinterpreted as a spoof if you went in unaware. If you watch closely enough, you can even hear the exact moment Shyamalan flushed his credibility down the toilet.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
