1. Star Wars: Episode VII
The big one. The one most likely to ended all of humanity as we know it. Let's ponder a few of the possible scenarios. Scenario one: Star Wars rocks! Fans rejoice as Abrams reignites the flames of the beloved franchise. He decides he can no longer focus on Star Trek. It's all about Star Wars. Trekkies, furious that their franchise has once again been relegated to the back seat, revolt. Just think about the many Trekkies and the high level tech jobs many of them occupy. One word: Robopocalypse. Three more words: we all die. Scenario two: Star Wars sucks. Star Wars fans revolt. They also occupy high level tech jobs. Abrams goes back to Star Trek and the Trekkies talk trash. It'll likely look like the opening moments of Mass Effect 3 except itll start with Skywalker ranch burning to the ground and then news footage of every Disney theme park in the world, on fire. Scenario three: Abrams pulls it off. Star Wars is amazing but he stays on with Star Trek too. Seeing the power he's garnered he stages a coup for world domination. The status quo fights back but Abrams cannot be stopped, thus ushering in a new age and finishing what every James Bond villain before him started. I was initially happy about the Star Wars news but Ive just successfully killed my inner child.
