10 Movies That Won't Be Outshined By Their Inevitable Reboots

1. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Let's just get this out of the way now by saying the Michael Bay reboot that is on the way will surely be a disaster. After watching the Transformers trilogy there is no one on this Earth that will be able to convince anyone that his TMNT has any promise. The best that we can hope for as far as the movie is concerned is that it's awesomely bad. With all that being said after a recent viewing of the original TMNT movie I was completely blown away by how good of a movie it actually is. Somehow a movie about turtles that enjoy pizza and have ninja skills managed to balance darkness, humor, action, philosophy and violence so perfectly with a concept that on paper sounds so silly. It's crazy to think that a movie made 21 years ago still holds up so well today and it does. Go check it out for yourself, watch the movie, I'll wait. Now wasn't that a satisfying experience? When you were younger it's almost a sure thing that you loved this movie. Now that you're older you love it still but for different reasons. Watching the movie nowadays you pick up on so many jokes that probably went over your head as a kid. What does that mean? It means the movie is good enough to cross generations. The only thing that's questionable about the movie today is certain parts of the score which sound somewhat dated but even those aren't THAT bad. The action scenes are well choreographed, the dialogue is perfect, the pace is perfect, the tone hit the nail right on the head and the animatronic suits look WAY better than anything CGI can produce nowadays. Am I saying this movie doesn't need to be rebooted? No that's not what I'm saying. What I am saying is that the upcoming TMNT movie that will be released next year will be a huge let down and although somewhere down the line someone might come close to getting it right...they will never get it right in the way this film did. Thanks for reading!
