10 Movies That Won't Be Outshined By Their Inevitable Reboots

6. Point Break

Who the hell is attempting to do a Point Break reboot? Seriously. When you look back at this film it certainly doesn't seem like a film worthy of rebooting. I am not at all saying that this is a bad film. As a matter of fact I personally think this is an awesome movie but to me it just doesn't seem like something that needs to be rebooted. Point Break has that certain early 90s charm that totally captures the vibe of that era. Everything comes together perfectly the fit the tone of the film. Watching this movie back gives you the impression that this was the perfect era for it to be filmed in and it wouldn't work as well today. This movie thrives off of its relationships. Keanu Reeves and Gary Busey make a great cop duo but the buddy dynamic between Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves is what truly drives this film. The two had undeniable chemistry that worked so well it convinced you they went surfing together after shooting. Speaking of surfing it's rumored that the reboot will be set in the world of extreme sports. Doesn't that kind of make the name Point Break a little pointless? With director Ericson Core already attached to direct this movie is well on its way to being in production. Given that it will be set in an extreme sports setting there is little doubt that this is just an attempt to cash in on the name Point Break. No matter how good the movie is it won't outshine the original because looking at the facts it already lacks heart which is something the original had plenty of.
