7. Starship Troopers
Out of all the movies on this list this one probably has the most potential to outdo the original. Ashley Edward Miller and Zack Stentz who wrote X-Men: First Class and Thor have been recruited to write the screenplay which gives you the impression that this film may have potential. That is until producer Toby Jaffe made it well known that film would have less violence and more CGI. Starship Troopers is overly campy, horribly acted, and one of the most violent films ever to hit the screen. All of those factors are what make the film so enjoyable. The movie goes from being bad to awesomely bad to just plain awesome. The original filmmakers created a movie that was entirely self aware of what it was. It was a movie about a bunch of soldiers traveling across space to fight giant bugs and they treated it as such. This over the top approach is what made the movie so enjoyable and is the reason why people continue to watch it today. The producers have already stated that the movie will be less violent, have a PG-13 rating and will attempt to reach a broader audience. Although at first glance this reboot seemed to have potential, it turns out it won't be awesomely bad like the original...it will more than likely just be bad.
