3. Back To The Future
Rumors of Back To The Future sequels have been floating around the internet ever since the third installment was released. It would seem that the ship has sailed on a sequel and whether you like it or not someone is sitting in a room at this very second plotting out how to make billions of dollars from a reboot. A quick Google search will return an unreliable source that says at one point Tim Burton planned to reboot the series with Johnny Depp as Doc Brown and since this is the internet we should all just assume that's true (no please don't I highly doubt it is). The truth is at this point we have no idea who might be interested in remaking this movie but you can bet your embarrassingly low bank account that someone is doing it and it's only a matter of time. The biggest problem with rebooting Back To The Future is that so much of the iconic imagery and great ideas in this film were based around 80s culture. Can you really imagine this movie being made today with Marty McFly leaving the year 2013 to go back to the 1980s? It just doesn't sound as charming when you look at it that way. Can you really imagine anyone else nailing the role of Doc Brown the way Christopher Lloyd did? Back To The Future was one of those right place, right time moments in film and it just doesn't seem like it would work as well with today's culture. Regardless of how things seem, it will happen. I am personally very surprised that it hasn't happened yet.
